Remember those leopard print matching joggers? These have been such wardrobe staples for lockdown life! They have served us so well, and may just be the most worn items for the last year or so!
Although we still both fit into those pairs, I was itching to make some more in anticipation of any growth spurts (for Freya, I should add) :)
What better fabric to use than this amazing camo print French Terry? It's perfect for hiding dirt and stains, and are (just about) trendy enough to wear outside the house as well. For Freya's pair, I decided to try a new-to-us pattern, the Kids Joggers by Ellie and Mac. You might recall that I was pretty smitten by the Mini Modern Joggers by Brindille & Twig, but thanks to Wacky Wednesday, I couldn't resist the chance to pick up the Kids Joggers pattern, which includes 2 looks and some cool patch options, running from 12 months to 14 years old, for a grand total of $1. I made these in a size 3 length and size 4 width, in relaxed fit with pockets (obviously), and they came together easily and nicely.
The only issue we seem to have is that the pockets have a tendency to flip out. In comparison, I prefer the curved pockets on the Mini Modern, for their style and how well they stay put. Otherwise, these toddler joggers fit the bill nicely: they are relaxed and comfortable, and work well with quite a few tops.
For my pair, i went with Brassies again this time. I won't bore you with the details, as you can find my last version here. As the camo French Terry is less stretchy than the paint splash fabric, I considered sizing up, but decided against it and went with a slimmer fit in the end. I think this works well - my paint splashy 4-way stretch French Terry joggers are perfect for yoga, and these 2-way stretch camo ones are great for lounging, walking. They are also great for being out and about, having adventures in the fun wooded play area at Polesden Lacey, where these pictures were taken yesterday :)
Thanks for reading! Take care and we will be back soon ;)
